Intern Simulation Polymeric Foam High Voltage Battery (f/m/x)
A GOOD INTERNSHIP IS NEVER HANDS OFF.
SHARE YOUR PASSION.
We believe in creating an environment where our interns really can learn by doing and where they are given their own areas of responsibility right from the start of their time with us. That’s why our experts will treat you as part of the team from day one, encourage you to bring your own ideas to the table – and give you the opportunity to really show what you can do.
We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of characterisation and passive safety simulation - polymeric foam High Voltage Battery. Our simulation experts work every day to develop new battery-powered vehicles. Together with our team, you will help us to ensure that our new e-models meet the highest crash requirements.
What awaits you?
- As part of your role, you will calibrate polymeric foams and generate material models for crash simulations.
- To achieve this, you will develop a testing program, prepare specimens, perform tests, and develop and calibrate material models.
- Additionally, you will have access to computed tomography scans to link mechanical behaviour to the underlying microstructure.
- You will gain interesting insights into the development work of high-voltage batteries in the area of crash tests and simulation.
- Moreover, you will receive excellent scientific support and you will be part of our motivated, cross-functional team.
What should you bring along?
- Master's program in mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, or a comparable degree.
- An understanding of the finite element method.
- Programming skills in Python/Matlab.
- Ideally, experience in mechanical material testing
- Knowledge of computed tomography and/or polymeric foams is an advantage.
- You are courageous and motivated to contribute your own ideas and explore new paths.
- Very good English skills; proficiency in German is a plus.
