Working at BMW Group Plant Munich.

Page Overview

Vehicles and engines have been produced at the plant in Munich, located in the northern part of the city, since 1922. The plant has grown continuously since its formation – today around 7 800 employees from 50 different countries work on producing vehicles here. The entire production process is performed on site: from the press shop to the body shop, paint shop, seat production facility and assembly line.

In addition to the plant, BMW Welt and the BMW Museum are located directly on the Olympiapark – as is our corporate headquarters, its four-cylinder design a landmark that is visible from near and far. All this provides an environment with diverse career opportunities in areas such as vehicle technology and production, surface technology, electronics and plant engineering, information technology or business and services, along with exciting ways to spend your leisure time.

Insights from the team

Who we are.

Portrait of team leader Umut in a blue BMW M5
I am team leader in operational vehicle control – and that’s despite not having a university degree. If you put your foot down at BMW, show commitment and passion, you'll get plenty of support from the leadership and can go far even without a degree.

I have so many opportunities during my training: alongside traditional tasks – like welding and sheet metal work – I'm also lucky enough to learn from engineers. Being part of the team and contributing to the creation of a BMW makes me truly proud.
