  • In order to keep our application process efficient and contemporary, interviews with future talents take place via live video interview (Skype) or telephone interview.
  • If you and your BMW Group contact person agree on a personal interview, we ask for your understanding we’ll not cover any costs for the interview.

 

In your own and the environment’s interest, all first interviews are held via a video or telephone interview (e.g. Skype or telephone).

However, if you and your BMW Group point of contact agree on a personal interview, please respect the following regulations with regards to arising expenses.
 

Up to 40 km journey distance.

  • If your journey way is less than 40 km, we won’t be reimbursing any costs.
  • At this, the distance between your departure point and the interview location applies, and not the distance between your place of residence and the interview location.

41 km to 800 km journey distance.
 

  • If the journey way is between 41 km and 800 km, you’ll receive a flat-rate reimbursement.
  • The amount of the flat-rate reimbursement depends on the journey distance. Details can be found under “Allowance categories”.
  • We only bear accommodation costs if they were actually necessary. For example, if your point of departure is too far away from the company's location in order to arrive and return on the same day, or if the application process takes several days. In all cases, accommodation costs must be approved by your BMW Group contact person prior to the interview.
    Tax information: The allowances for accommodation and meals are based on current legal guidelines, i.e. EUR 20 per night and EUR 14 for meals.
  • Please fill in the Travel Expenses Reimbursement form (see below) and send it to your BMW Group contact.

     

Beyond 801 km journey distance.
 

  • If your journey way is above 801 km, you’ll receive an exact reimbursement from us.
  • When making the round trip is by public transport, we’ll reimburse the costs for second-class tickets.
  • In case you travel in your own car, we’ll reimburse 20 cents per kilometre.
  • With regards to costs for flight tickets, these must be approved by your BMW Group point of contact prior to the interview.
  • We only bear accommodation costs if they were actually necessary. For example, if your point of departure is too far away from the company's location in order to arrive and return on the same day, or if the application process takes several days. In all cases, accommodation costs must be approved by your BMW Group contact person prior to the interview.
  • Please fill in the Travel Expenses Reimbursement form (see below) and send it to your BMW Group contact.
     

We ask for your understanding that reimbursements can only be reviewed and made up to 6 months after the interview due to data privacy rules (GDPR). Reimbursement are usually made within a month after successful examination.

Please list all relevant interview costs and send the BMW Group’s Travel Expenses Reimbursement form together with all supporting receipts to vorstellungskosten@bmw.de.

Allowances are calculated exclusive of taxes.

What type of costs are non-refundable?

  • taxi rides
  • First class train journeys
  • Business class/ first class flights
  • Visa fees
  • Other fees (health insurance, etc.)

Note regarding tax law: The per diems for accommodations and meals are based on the legal requirements for per diems:

  • Accommodation flat rate 20.00 € per night.
  • Meal flat rate: 14.00 € each for the day of arrival and departure.
  • eFor stays of several days additionally: flat rate of 28,00 € for each additional day between arrival and departure day.
