Note: This dual study programme is offered as a combined degree programme with the apprenticeship Vehicle Mechatronics Expert Sytem and High Voltage Technology.
You think twice is better? We do so, too! Get a head start with the dual studies in automotive engineering (B. Eng.) and training as an automotive mechatronic expert. During your studies, you will be trained as an engineer who is an expert in various areas of the vehicle, such as product development, driving dynamics and vehicle safety. In the meantime, we will make you fit for development, manufacture, repair and quality assurance during your training. After 4.5 years you are an engineer and automotive mechatronics expert and therefore superbly prepared for your future.

1st year
Start of Apprenticeship and Vocational School.
- Start of apprenticeship at BMW on 1 September
- Practical assignments in various areas of our company
- Start of vocational school
- Intermediate examination (IHK final examination part I) at the end of the first year
2nd year
First and second semester.
- Now your studies begin!
- Your studies and practical placements will alternate. During the lecture period, you will be free to study. During the semester breaks, you will be doing practical placements at the company.
3rd year
Third and fourth semester.
- Similar procedure as in the first and second semesters.
- Your studies and practical placements will alternate. During the lecture period, you will be free to study. During the semester breaks, you will be doing practical placements at the company.
4th year
Fifth and sixth semester.
5th Semester:
- Practical semester, ~ 7 months of practical work experience at BMW.
- IHK final examination and thus completion of apprenticeship.
6th Semester: As usual, studies and practical placements alternate.
5th year
Seventh semester.
- Bachelor's thesis at BMW.
- Completion of your studies. You are ready to start your career!
