Equal Opportunities.

Passion knows no differences.

The valuable and diverse contributions of our colleagues from over 110 countries shape who we are: a Bavarian automotive company that calls the world its home. For us, different perspectives and talents are key to our success. Just as our customers, suppliers, investors and partners around the globe are unique, so too are our teams – bringing fresh energy every day and putting a smile on our customers’ faces.

Our commitment.

Different perspectives and talents are the foundation of our success, driving our innovation and competitiveness. We support numerous initiatives internally, but also partner with external organisations and are proud members of the Charta der Vielfalt.

CULTURAL BACKGROUND.

We are proud to have colleagues from over 110 different nations on our teams and actively encourage cultural exchange. The variety of cultures within our workforce not only helps us to better understand the specific needs of our stakeholder in diverse markets and to align our business accordingly, but it also enables us to respond quickly and flexibly to new demands.

GENDER.

We are committed to achieving gender balance at every level of our organisation. We promote equal opportunities with initiatives such as parental coaching, joint leadership and equal pay. Our women’s networks and partnerships encourage exchange and support. In 2024, we were recognised with the Women’s Career Index (FKi) seal. We also collaborate closely with external organisations, such as the Bündnis für Frauen in MINT-Berufen (Alliance for Women in STEM Careers), PANDA – the Women Leadership Network, and the Bündnis gemeinsam gegen Sexismus (Alliance Against Sexism), further strengthening our commitment.

AGE AND EXPERIENCE.

Longer careers – starting earlier and retiring later – mean our colleagues are spending more of their lives with us, and today, four generations work together successfully at BMW. We foster intergenerational collaboration to encourage valuable exchange and unlock the full potential of our talent. In addition, our company health management programmes and flexible working time models help our people plan their careers according to their individual life stages.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ABILITIES.

It is our mission to offer colleagues with physical or mental disabilities an inclusive and barrier-free working environment. We want all talents to feel comfortable and to bring their unique perspectives to creative processes. Through digitalisation and Industry 4.0, we are improving working conditions for colleagues with disabilities. We also demonstrate our commitment through partnerships with workshops for people with disabilities (WfbM) and, as a member of Valuable 500, we set a clear example for inclusion.

SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND IDENTITY.

Together, we foster a positive, respectful and open working environment in which everyone is welcome – regardless of sexual orientation or identity. Our BMW Group PRIDE network for our LGBTIQ+ community stands for these values. We send a clear message to the outside world too: we are a member of the PROUT EMPLOYER network of the Prout at Work Foundation and have signed the “UN Standards of Conduct for Business for Tackling Discrimination against LGBTI People”.

Our voice on social media.

We promote a respectful behaviour within the company. Discrimination in any form has no place at the BMW Group. Through targeted campaigns, we actively emphasise in our external communications our commitment to creating a work environment where every employee can realise their full potential. We also use our presence on social media for this.
