We currently employ around 150,000 people in over 140 countries, all working together to drive the future of mobility. With an organisation of this scale, it is easy to lose orientation at first. That is exactly why we created DRIVE, a comprehensive onboarding programme for all new colleagues joining BMW Group. During their first 12 months, new starters take part in the programme in close coordination with their functional area and can choose modules flexibly. This way, everyone experiences what drives us from day one and gets the start that best fits their individual needs.
Welcome to BMW Group!
Possible Elements of the DRIVE Programme.
Various Networking Events.
Events within the DRIVE programme give you a comprehensive introduction to BMW Group. At key events such as Welcome@BMW Group, you gain an overview of our brands, products and corporate strategy. At the same time, you can connect with colleagues from different areas and start building a cross-functional network early on.
Additional events such as ExperienceProcesses@BMW Group provide insights into core company processes, from order to production through to delivery, while highlighting current challenges and key sustainability topics at BMW Group.
Short Production Assignment.
Within the DRIVE programme, new colleagues have the opportunity to take part in voluntary practical assignments, gaining insights into BMW Group from different perspectives. Depending on your interests, you can choose optional placements in areas such as Production, Sales or relevant interface functions. You actively contribute, experience different ways of working and develop a deeper understanding of processes, customer needs and how the organisation works together. Whether and to what extent you take part in these assignments is entirely up to you, tailored to your personal interests and your individual DRIVE journey.
Training Opportunities and Guided Experiences.
Trainings within the DRIVE programme provide hands-on knowledge and clear guidance for starting your career at BMW Group. You learn about the development and career opportunities available to you, how talent management and internal mobility work, and how to build on your individual strengths in a targeted way.
Further training sessions show how innovation is created at BMW Group, how ideas can be contributed, and the role that brand, customer focus and brand behaviour play in day-to-day work.
In addition, you can choose to take part in a range of guided experiences. These include optional plant tours, visits to BMW Welt and the BMW Museum, as well as tours of BMW Group Classic. These opportunities allow you to experience our brands, products, history and production processes firsthand and deepen your understanding of the company.
We have a lot to offer.
In addition to an intense onboarding programme, new colleagues can look forward to numerous benefits.
