Automotive Manufacturing Certificate Program.
The Automotive Manufacturing Certificate Program is a one-year long program that allows you to attend courses at a local partner college while working part-time within different technologies at BMW Manufacturing and receiving BMW-specific trainings.
Scholarship Programs.
The BMW Scholars Program, started in 2011, is an apprenticeship for students enrolled in two-year career paths related to manufacturing technology. The program offers the workplace benefits of a traditional apprentice program found in Germany with the additional advantage of tuition assistance.
BMW partners with four area technical colleges: Spartanburg Community College, Greenville Technical College, Tri-County Technical College and Piedmont Technical College. Students attend class full-time and work part-time at BMW Manufacturing. So far, more than 330 Scholars have graduated from the program in the areas of Automotive Technology, Equipment Services (ESA), Production, Logistics/Supply Chain Management and Computer Technology.
In 2021, BMW added two additional programs under the Scholars umbrella – BMW Fast Track and BMW Rising Scholars (for high school seniors).

High school seniors are chosen because of their strong potential and their good problem-solving and math skills. Rising Scholars is a wonderful opportunity for them to acquire technical skills in an advanced manufacturing setting and get paid to learn.
The BMW Scholars Program is one of the best ways to get your foot in the door at BMW. You not only get a degree as a full-time student but are also working part-time learning the different aspects of BMW. The best part is getting to move around in parts of the plant that you may not ever see otherwise. This experience has not only given me a higher skill set as an employee but has also helped me grow as an individual.
The BMW Scholars Program has been an amazing experience. Being able to work in a high-tech manufacturing environment and learn invaluable knowledge/skills, all while attending college for a degree is priceless. I had the opportunity to meet and work alongside fellow scholars from diverse backgrounds to solve complex problems. Later in the program, I was introduced to knowledgeable mentors, and they have led me every step of the way to become successful in my field.
The BMW Fast Track Scholar Program is a wonderful opportunity for any freshly graduated student to gain some real-world experience and to get a jump start on their career path. To be able to take the skills learned in college and immediately apply them to your job is such a rewarding experience!
