Meet our Veterans.

Throughout Plant Spartanburg – in Body, Paint, Assembly, Logistics, Human Resources, IT, and other areas – we have experienced professionals who have successfully transferred the skills they learned in the military to the jobs they perform at BMW. They are an important reason for our success. Listen to the stories of six BMW Manufacturing associates and how they were able to apply their military skills and training in a manufacturing environment. 

John.

John is a Second Lieutenant with the South Carolina Air National Guard. He is also an Operational Lead for Maintenance in the Paint Shop at BMW Manufacturing. John talks about his reasons for joining the military, his time as a BMW Scholar, and how BMW has allowed him to grow professionally and still actively serve.

Tameka.

Tameka spent eight years as a Specialist in the U.S. Army Reserve. She works in Human Resources at BMW Manufacturing on the HR Global Alignment Project. Tameka appreciates BMW’s support of associates during their terms of service in the military, whether in weekend drills or full deployment.

Michael.

Michael served for nine years as a Petty Officer First Class in the U.S. Navy. He now works as a Technical Building System Specialist at BMW Manufacturing. Michael reflects on his time in the Navy and his recruiting journey to working at BMW.

Craig.

Craig served as a Captain (03E) in the U.S. Marine Corp for 20 years before retiring.  He now works in IT Infrastructure, supporting the BMW Group throughout North and South America.  Craig says he likes the flexibility at BMW where you can work in different areas of the company in a variety of locations.

Kris.

Kris serves as a Major General in the U.S. Army Reserve and is a Technical Training Specialist at BMW Manufacturing. Kris talks about the outstanding support she receives from BMW during her military leaves of absence and how the skills she’s learned help her to be a more effective leader. 

Khiva.

Khiva served for seven years in the U.S. Army. She is now a Section Leader in the Paint Shop at BMW Manufacturing. Khiva talks about the skills she learned in the military that helped her be a better associate and leader at BMW.
