As a SAP Software Engineer - Logistic, at BMW Group Plant Debrecen you're a crucial part of our vision to revolutionize the way we think about cars.

In this position, you are responsible for the integration and rollout of the process and IT landscape of the logistic and the production system SAP S4 Extended Warehouse Management (SAP S4 EWM), SAP LE (Logistics Execution) and SAP TM (Transportation Management). This includes the integration and rollout of solutions, including innovations for the evolution of processes and systems in the global logistics and production system.  

What awaits you?

  • Work environment – you will be working at the Communication Center located within the BMW Group Plant Debrecen, in a modern, digitalized, open office-style environment, together with other office employees and your direct teammates. The Communication Center is a state-of-the-art office space equipped with kitchenettes, coffee stations, and ergonomic workstations, and also includes a company cafeteria.
  • Team – as part of a 10-15-member team you will collaborate closely with logistics experts and international BMW IT teams to help shape our new S/4HANA-based IT landscape.
  • Definition and implementation of logistics processes – you will design and continuously develop IT processes related to production logistics (line supply and warehousing) in close cooperation with business departments and central IT.
  • Customization of SAP logistics modules – you will support the configuration, adjustment and testing of SAP systems such as EWM (Extended Warehouse Management), SAP ERP WM (Warehouse Management), SAP LE (Logistics Execution) and SAP TM (Transportation Management).
  • Operation of applications – you will ensure the reliable operation of production-critical logistics systems by testing, integrating, deploying and operating these applications as part of an international agile team.
  • Support of internal development projects – you will actively participate in the full development cycle, including requirements gathering, system design, functional and technical implementation, testing, go-live and post-implementation support.
  • Managing system integrations – you will help designing and maintaining the necessary interfaces with other SAP and non-SAP systems to ensure seamless data exchange.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Educational background – you hold a degree in IT, engineering, mathematics or another field related to information technology, or you have at least 3 years of equivalent experience in SAP implementation within warehouse management processes.
  • Work experience – you are familiar with SAP S/4HANA EWM and WM modules, as well as with SAP LE and SAP TM modules.
  • Work schedule – you are willing to work on-site at least 4 days a week, during regular daytime hours.
  • Language skills – you are fluent in English.
  • Technical knowledge – you are familiar with and use cloud technologies and Kafka. You have experience with the ITIL framework and working in agile environments using collaboration tools such as Jira or Confluence.
  • Cross-functional communication – You have experience acting as an “interface” between IT and business units and are confident in facilitating cross-functional workshops.
