Please note that this is a fixed term contract position.
The following represent the main duties expected of an Artisan in Assembly Maintenance and/or Offline:
Check that defect is captured in IPSQ and check that all information is correct (cost centre, defect type, place etc.)
Reservation of the vehicle on F1/F2 system prior to rework commencing.
Diagnosis of the root cause.
Draw reworks instructions from dealer net (where necessary).
Request spare parts – importantly by following the DS&R process.
Perform the necessary reworks on the vehicle.
Capture the retest function on IPSQ when required.
Release the defect/rework in IPSQ, providing an accurate description of operations performed.
Final testing including the release of the retest block on IPSQ.
Where necessary perform the necessary rework hand over process when handing rework over to a colleague. To maintain all relevant equipment in good and safe working order so that it’s designed reliability and availability are achieved.
Provide a timely response to equipment breakdowns in order to minimize plant downtime.
To analyze the causes of equipment failure and perform fault finding so as to be able to repair any breakdowns and prevent reoccurrence.
The timely performance of preventative maintenance work in order to minimize equipment failures.
Commissioning of new equipment installed prior to productive use, so that correct installation and operation are ensured.
The provision of reliable equipment operating and repair status information to production personnel and maintenance planner.
To ensure that all work is performed competently and in accordance with BMW specifications.
To ensure that all equipment and work areas are safe at all times to prevent accidents and injury to personnel
Qualifications and Skills Requirements
N4
Must have Trade test in Auto Electrician or Mechanic or automotive equivalent.
Minimum 1 year experience in an automotive environment.
MS Office knowledge.
Problem solving & analytical thinking skills.
Problem resolution orientated.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
