Quality Inspector

Please note that this is a fixed-term contract position.

Purpose of the Job

• To do static check and short-track road testing and inspection on the BMW Product Range focusing on functional defects and rattles and squeaks while driving on the test track.
• This activity is a verification / acceptance of the line production by 100% inspection as well as initiation and monitoring of corrective actions, to ensure that the defined quality levels are achieved or to reject the non-conforming results / materials before shipment to the customer.

Main Duties

• Quality checks on complete vehicles in order to meet the PP100 target and quality standards.
• Conduct inspection as per ILQC work instruction and procedures for area as specified.
• Book the defects found on IPSQ.
• Help with the pre-analysis of the defects found.
• Escalate defects based on the severity and re-occurrence.
• Establish corrective action if requested.
• Identification of all defects with correct BI ratings.

• Correct information flow when defects are detected.
• Assist with the interim counter measure to contain the problems found by external sensors.

Auxiliary Activities

• Instruct the associates about the quality assurance within BMW.
• Training, system checks at various locations and other ad hoc tasks that may arise.
• Conduct customer focus inspection as required.

Education

• Grade 12 or similar and/or mechanical artisanship.
• Technical Diploma in mechanical or electrical engineer or equivalent engineering discipline.

Experience

• 3 years of quality inspection and process experience.
• 3 years of Automotive industry experience.
