GET TO KNOW MARIE.

26 years ago, I started my long journey at BMW. I was in my early twenties and had worked briefly at a creative agency before. During all my years at BMW, I've had the opportunity to grow a lot, both professionally and also as a person. A few years after I started, I was, offered to deepen my knowledge within communication/information and studied for 2 years alongside my work. Over the years, I've had the pleasure of working with almost all of our brands; BMW, MINI and Motorrad. All with their own personalities but also similarities.

Today I work as Brand Management Director at BMW Northern Europe. For me, it's a delight to be able to work with one of the strongest brands in the world – working to make it even stronger and more relevant to the population in our region. I've always had a passion for premium brands – brands that I believe in and can stand up for. Since I was small, I've loved to drive cars and motorcycles – the freedom that it gives me and the sheer driving pleasure is unmeasurable. During the years, I’ve been riding motorcycles across 28 countries in the world!

The best thing about working at BMW has, however, always been the people! Every day coming to the office gives me such a boost in energy – working together as a team, always striving to improve even further and having the goal to be the best in each area. My colleagues across the company are so driven, have a deep knowledge, experience and a great attitude. People here are allowed to be themselves, which creates great and diverse teams.

To work in an international company gives me pleasure as I enjoy learning and understanding other cultures, and it has also given me the possibility to travel – which is one of my passions. Except for working close to headquarters in Munich, I work across our Northern Europe region, consisting of the seven Nordic and Baltic countries. We have offices across the region, and part of my team is situated in some of the other countries. This gives people the opportunity to move across borders and continue their career temporarily or permanently in another country.

For me, freedom is extremely important. Working at BMW comes with a lot of responsibility, but also with trust. During my years of maternity leave, we found a good solution that worked both for me, my family and the company. I'm a happy mother of two boys (and a dog) and have been able to find a good mix of combining career and family life.

My vision has always been to create better employee satisfaction, which automatically creates better support for our dealers and in the end, a better customer experience. This is what, in the end, matters – satisfied customers, that love our brand!

I’m thankful for being a part of this company, which is always developing, striving to be better and is working hard to be a sustainable company – in everything we do, from Design and Production to Diversity.

My motto is – nothing is impossible, the impossible just takes a bit longer. This has proven to be true as I've been allowed to work my way up to a position that has always been a dream for me.
