Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is a household name that epitomises luxury. First established in 1904, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has rich history in British car manufacturing and racing. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of BMW Group and has operated from its Goodwood home since 2003. Every Rolls-Royce motor car is hand-built to customer order in West Sussex, UK. The manufacturing plant is located within an area of outstanding natural beauty, on the edge of the South Downs National Park. Working and Living in Goodwood.
The plant is set in beautiful parkland and was built to have a minimal impact on its surroundings.
Tailored to fit into its environment, the plant has a 3.5 hectare “living roof” made of sedum plants, the largest in the UK, and the planting of 400,000 trees and shrubs around the property further helps it to blend in with the countryside.
Goodwood is moments away from the City of Chichester which has a modest population of over 26,000 inhabitants. The city is well known for its historic architecture and contemporary lifestyle.
Chichester is not only home to one of the most distinct art galleries in the UK (Pallant House Gallery), but also a theatre and a mixture of independent and large retail outlets and restaurants. The city is surrounded by both the beauty of the South downs National Park and beautiful coast with both a harbour and sandy beaches of the Wittering’s close by.
In the summer, people travel from far and wide to experience motor and horse racing events on the Goodwood Estate. The city also offers great transport links across the coast and London.
