HOW TO CREATE A CANDIDATE PROFILE.

In order to create a candidate profile you need to register on our recruiting system. Therefore we would like you to read the privacy statement first so that you know how the BMW Group handles your personal data. Once you accept the conditions, you will be able to register. As a new user you need to register by choosing a username, creating a password and entering your email address. You can also sign in with your email account (the provider is displayed on the registration page).

You can submit your applicant information in three different ways. The fastest way to upload your data is by connecting to your LinkedIn profile or by uploading your CV. By selecting the first option, you will be directed to the login page of LinkedIn. With the second option you just need to upload your CV. The system will take the relevant information from the profile and will use it to automatically fill out parts of the online submission. Please review the information that has been automatically entered for you and make any relevant changes in the next steps. If you do not upload a profile or a resume, you will need to fill out the online submission manually. Your data will be stored for a duration of your choice. How we delete data is explained in detail in the privacy statement. You can pause the application at any time and add or update data. Before submitting your application you will be shown an overview of your personal and professional information that you are always able to amend.

Data protection is extremely important to us, and to ensure this, we give you complete control over which BMW Group locations or legal entities can view your candidate profile. This is managed in the preferences section during the application process by specifying the appropriate location(s) and organization(s). In order to set your preferences, select the BMW Group location(s) at which you want your candidate profile to be visible. By adding your selection to the list, recruiters in the specific country (or countries) will be able to see your candidate profile and can then consider you for positions which fit your criteria. If you also wish to limit your profile visibility to a certain legal entity, you can do so by specifying this in the third preferences page. Please note: selecting a legal entity can be skipped if you want your profile to be visible to all entities within the selected country (or countries).

We offer you the possibility of staying informed of the latest job vacancies that match your profile. To subscribe or unsubscribe to the email notifications, just tick or untick the box in the personal information section in your application profile.

At this page in the online recruiting system you will find a summary of all the applications you have submitted and your current submission status. By clicking on ‘View’ you can call up the summary of your application at any time and continue working on it. You can manage your user profile under ‘My Account Options’: here you can change your password or deactivate and delete your account.

The next step may be a job interview. We aim to get to know the candidate via conversation with representatives of the specialist department and the HR department. Personal background, specialist knowledge, expertise, past experience and personal interests, such as languages, are checked, and we then assess whether the applicant would fit into the team.

PRACTICAL TIPS FOR YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION.

You can enter the online application system by clicking on the ‘Apply’ button on our career page. Please describe your qualifications and skills accurately, honestly and in as much detail as possible. Please ensure that you upload all the relevant documents. The following documents should always be included:

  • Cover letter
  • CV / Resume containing any relevant information about qualifications
  • Any relevant information to the job you are applying to (e.g. certificates, portfolio, and performance records etc.)

You may upload up to 5 files of 10 MB each.

Please do not forget to submit your application when you have finished creating your profile. We wish you every success with your application.

You can view all open positions here by clicking on the ‘Job Finder’. The ‘Apply Now’ button at the end of each job description takes you into the application process in the recruiting system. Only by submitting the application is your profile visible to the BMW Group Recruiting Team.

If you can’t find a suitable position, you can send a speculative application by creating a candidate profile in our system. Enter the system directly by clicking the ‘Create profile’ button (which also appears when your search returns no results). We then will be able to view your candidate profile. If we match your profile to a suitable role, we will notify you regarding further steps in the application process. However, we encourage you to regularly review our job vacancies to discover new opportunities that may be of interest to you.

After you have submitted your application, you will receive an email notification. Then a member of the BMW Group Recruiting Team will review your documents. Our recruiters will look through all submitted applications and should yours be of interest, we will invite you to an interview. We offer you the possibility of staying informed of the latest job vacancies that match your profile. To subscribe or unsubscribe to the email notifications, just tick or untick the box in the personal information section in your application profile.

Depending on the entry level of the applicant and the occupation they are interested in, we use various selection criteria and selection tools with which we assess candidates.

A telephone or video interview may be the first step towards a selection day or face-to-face interview. It’s an essential part of the hiring process, as it gives the HR or hiring department the opportunity to learn more about the candidate and their experience, and to see if they share our passion for the BMW Group.

The applicant will receive a phone call from the HR department or the hiring department, or an invite to complete a video interview.

The interview focuses on the candidate's professional background, their specialist knowledge and their suitability for the job in question.

Candidates invited to a video interview must find a well-lit space to sit and ensure they won’t be disturbed while recording. They will be able to test their equipment and will have access to as few practice questions before starting the interview.

Alternatively, an online interview may be the first step towards a selection day or face-to-face interview. The applicant will receive an invitiation from our partners at Spark Hire to complete a one-way, video interview that focuses on the candidate’s professional background, their specialist knowledge and suitability for the job in question. Suitable applicants will receive a phone call from the HR department to shedule a face-to-face interview. This telephone call also provides the chance for any additional questions on either side to be answered.
