Senior Agentic AI Process Designer (f/m/x)

Artificial Intelligence and AI agents are transforming how processes are designed, executed, and continuously improved across the BMW Group value chain. But unlocking their full potential requires more than technology alone. 
It requires people who understand processes deeply – and rethink them AI‑first. 

In this role, you shape the next generation of AI‑supported and agent‑based processes together with Process Owners, AI Product teams, and IT. You ensure that AI is applied where it creates real, end‑to‑end value across the BMW Group. 

What awaits you?

• In close collaboration with Process Owners you analyze existing processes, identify AI‑ and agent‑based use cases, and design future‑oriented process solutions by integrating available AI platforms, technologies, agents, data, and knowledge sources. 
• You design AI-first process architectures across the full lifecycle, from process and AI readiness assessment through implementation and operationalization to continuous monitoring and improvement. 
• Building on this, you connect process thinking with technical execution and take a driving role in initiating and delivering strategic, AI‑based process initiatives with measurable impact on efficiency and value creation. 
• At the same time, you assess and validate efficiency gains and balance them against the associated effort, for example regarding data availability and governance requirements, embedding these considerations into business cases to ensure sustainable and scalable implementation. 
• You translate concepts into feasible solutions by working closely with cross functional teams across business, IT, AI Product, Data and Platform domains. 
• With a strong focus on collaboration, you design human–AI interaction to ensure clear responsibilities, transparency, and effective day‑to‑day collaboration. 
• You integrate AI risk and governance requirements into process and agent design, ensuring that legal, ethical, compliance, and control requirements are addressed throughout the entire lifecycle. 

What should you bring along?

• University degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a comparable field, ideally at Master’s or PhD level.
• Strong end-to-end process understanding and proven experience in process analysis, process modeling, and AI-first process redesign. In addition, a strong conceptual understanding of agent architectures, orchestration patterns, tool and system integration, context/knowledge management, and the operational requirements of enterprise AI agents is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, preferably in Python, software architecture and DevOps engineering.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in process design, process transformation, or the implementation of AI-supported processes.
• Methodological expertise in at least two of the following areas: Generative AI, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, MLOps, agentic AI tools and systems or platform development.
• Extensive project management experience and, ideally, project leadership experience, including communication with stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Deep conceptual understanding of AI technologies, paired with high technical affinity and the ability to assess their applicability, limitations, and risks in complex business processes.
