Networks are not purely a question of IT. Networks are first and foremost a human factor. Only through a close exchange do we get an understanding of how IT can help to cast complex requirements into systems that make the difference. Mutual support in the team is crucial to provide processes and functions that really help internal users.
Artificial Intelligence is fundamentally changing how software, engineering, and industrial processes are designed. At BMW Group, we are building the next generation of enterprise AI systems – from AI assistants to autonomous multi-agent systems and Large Industry Models (LIMs). Our mission is to create scalable AI capabilities that become an integral part of engineering and business processes.
What awaits you?
- In this role, you design, co-create and implement enterprise-scale agentic AI systems together with business and IT teams, from solution architecture to production deployment.
- Translating business requirements into reusable AI solution architectures and scalable multi-agent solutions, you leverage modern agentic AI frameworks and orchestration technologies with a focus on planning, memory, tool use, evaluation and enterprise adoption.
- Drawing on your expertise in AI architecture, you combine LLMs, reasoning models, retrieval systems, tools, APIs and enterprise applications into reliable end-to-end solutions.
- By applying modern software engineering principles, MLOps and cloud-native technologies, you build production-ready AI applications, guide implementation teams and drive enterprise-grade delivery.
- You integrate enterprise systems, databases, APIs and business applications into AI workflows.
- Through hands-on implementation experience, you define architecture standards, reusable design patterns and technical guardrails for secure, scalable and maintainable AI solutions, while continuously improving BMW's enterprise AI platforms together with platform teams.
What should you bring along?
- University degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or a comparable technical field, ideally with a master’s degree or PhD.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including experience in AI development and proven hands-on expertise in designing and building enterprise AI and agentic AI solutions.
- Strong consulting and stakeholder-management skills, enabling you to align business units, use case teams and platform teams and drive AI initiatives from idea to enterprise-scale adoption.
- Very good hands-on software engineering skills, including Python, software architecture, clean code and automated testing.
- You master agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or OpenAI Agents SDK, including MCP and tool calling.
- Strong expertise in LLM engineering, including RAG, context engineering, multi-agent orchestration and evaluation as well as enterprise AI solution design.
- Experience in building production-grade cloud solutions using AWS or Azure, CI/CD and MLOps, combined with architectural excellence, hands-on implementation expertise, strong problem-solving skills and fluent English.
