Working Student Position Exterior Crash Simulation (f/m/x)

THE BEST INTERNSHIP IN THEORY - AND IN PRACTICE.

SHARE YOUR PASSION.

World-leading technologies don’t make it into a BMW until they’ve undergone one of the most challenging journeys imaginable. It takes dynamic teams with outstanding technical skills to take them from the drawing board to the road. That’s why our experts will treat you as part of the team from day one, encourage you to bring your own ideas to the table – and give you the opportunity to really show what you can do.

Our team at the BMW Group develops detailed finite element models for accurate predictions of crash load cases in vehicle development. We continuously improve modelling guidelines and automate pre- and postprocessing processes for exterior crash load cases such as pedestrian protection and bumper-to-bumper collisions. As part of your working student position, you support us with scripting and testing of models and processes.

What awaits you?

  • You will support the development of pre- and postprocessing tools for simulation data.
  • Furthermore, you help evaluate and develop new modelling approaches for crash simulations.
  • In addition, you support the development of data mining applications to analyze simulation results.
  • Moreover, you help test models and processes for exterior crash load cases such as pedestrian protection and bumper-to-bumper collisions.

What should you bring along?

  • Studies in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, aerospace engineering or a comparable field.
  • In-depth knowledge of the finite element method.
  • Programming skills in Python and shell scripting.
  • High self-motivation and strong team spirit.
  • Good command of German and/or English.

Would you like to apply your finite element expertise and help shape crash simulation at the BMW Group? Then Apply now!
