Our team at Technology Development Innovations at the BMW Group focuses on logistics innovations and offers you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in robotics engineering and software development. We work on cutting-edge automation solutions that shape the future of logistics.

 

What awaits you?

  • You will support designing, building, and optimizing the software of a contact-based robot for logistics applications.
  • Furthermore, you assist in various robotics engineering tasks, including hardware setup and lab experiments.
  • In addition, you help to understand the complexity of automation and propose improvements to the concept.
  • Moreover, you contribute to testing new automation ideas and potentially support automation projects related to Industrial IoT.
  • You also help to document development work and maintain software using version control and git.
  • Additionally, you summarize findings in PowerPoint and present the results to the team to support decision-making.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Studies in robotics, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering or any science degree with relevant experience.
  • Experience with Python and C++; C/C# or Java experience also relevant.
  • Experience with system development using a ROS environment.
  • Experience with code collaboration using git.
  • Experience with application development and deployment in Docker.
  • Experience with protocols like MQTT or Kafka would be a plus; experience in cloud computing (Azure or AWS) is also beneficial.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team.
