Our central IT department at the BMW Group shapes AI governance and regulatory readiness for emerging technologies. We support the organization in preparing for the EU AI Act and developing proactive compliance strategies that combine innovation with responsibility.
What awaits you?
- You will support the development of a research design to study EU AI Act readiness across different organizations and industries.
- Furthermore, you help analyze how companies prepare for EU AI Act compliance through policies, processes, roles, and risk assessments using secondary data and expert interviews.
- In addition, you contribute to developing a comparative framework to classify readiness strategies and organizational archetypes.
- Moreover, you will assist in identifying patterns, success factors, and typical pitfalls in current EU AI Act preparation efforts.
- You will also help present intermediate and final results to internal stakeholders and integrate their feedback into your thesis.
What should you bring along?
- Studies in business informatics, computer science, information systems, law and technology, management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in AI governance, digital regulation, and in particular the EU AI Act.
- Very good analytical and conceptual skills, ideally with initial experience in empirical research such as case studies, interviews, literature reviews, or qualitative comparative analysis.
- Structured, independent, and reliable way of working.
- Motivation to bridge academic research and practical implementation in a corporate environment.
- Passion for responsible use of AI and emerging technologies.
- Fluent English skills; German skills are an advantage; strong written and oral communication abilities.
