We are offering an exciting PhD position focused on large-scale agentic AI systems to modernize product design and development. This topic sits at the intersection of some of the most transformative technologies of today: foundation models, 3D CAD, and industrial-scale AI agents. Therefore, it offers substantial opportunities for personal and technical growth.
What awaits you?
- You will support research in generative and agentic systems for engineering workflows such as CAD, CAE, and CAM.
- Furthermore, you help explore and implement agentic systems and large industry models relevant to vehicle design, testing, and optimization.
- In addition, you contribute to the development of multimodal models to streamline geometrical and functional automotive design processes.
- Moreover, you collaborate closely with leading universities and industry research partners to build novel solutions based on real-world use cases.
What should you bring along?
- University degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Experience in AI model development and MLOps with a focus on deep learning, generative models, and large multimodal architectures.
- Good understanding of engineering artifacts such as 3D geometry and simulation models, as well as product design and development processes.
- Proficiency in programming and software engineering best practices, ideally AgentOps.
- Experience with technical computing and numerical simulation is a plus.
- Track record of research contributions such as publications or conference talks is a plus.
- Business-fluent English; German language skills are a plus.
