





Underwriter
BMW Group Financial Services Ireland is looking for an Underwriter. This role is based in our head office in Santry, Dublin.

We support new business growth and its ongoing success by fostering collaboration among peers, managers, and sales teams, sharing best practices, and continuously seeking opportunities for improvement. We ensure compliance with legal, regulatory (CBI), and business considerations, while supporting the wider team outside daily workflows. This role also involves managing relationships with our outsourced payout team and responding to daily queries.
What awaits you?
• Underwrite manual applications within personal underwriting mandate levels.
• Handle Retailer/Alphera Partner inquiries, escalations, and appeals.
• Identify applications requiring additional information, prioritising customer affordability and sustainability.
• Ensure adherence to New Business, Credit Risk policies, and all associated procedures.
• Support delivery of operational targets for retail new business.
• Maintain high retailer satisfaction levels.
• Sustain process performance and environment within the New Business area.
• Contribute to ongoing process improvements and best practice sharing.
• Support payout-related queries and assist in process quality assurance.
• Collaborate with the new business management team to optimise individual and team performance by coaching and developing associates.
• Act as a role model to support change and continuous improvement within the team and wider business.
• Assist the New Business Manager with daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics.
What should you bring along?
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Retail Credit Underwriter, with proven expertise in Motor Finance Products.
• Strong understanding of credit management and retail/vehicle finance industry standards.
• Demonstrated ability to review and improve operational processes.
• Experience working within operational environments, with a self-motivated approach to development and process improvement.
• Leadership qualities to motivate teams and support change initiatives.
• Analytical skills to interpret data, outcomes, and processes for effective decision-making.
• Ability to balance customer and company outcomes with legislative compliance.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills, with confidence and drive to perform.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and familiarity with company systems.
Please note: A commitment to working at least one Saturday a month is required.
