Collaborate with a team of researchers and engineers to contribute to the future of automotive design using generative AI. Your involvement will aid in advancing state-of-the-art 3D generative models, potentially featured in high-level AI and Computer Vision publications.

What awaits you?

• You assist in fine-tuning and customizing 3D generative models (DiT- and Flow-Matching based) for vehicle design applications.
• Contribute to developing data-efficient techniques for conditioning generative models on new modalities relevant to engineering, such as performance metrics, aerodynamic properties, or specific design constraints.
• Explore Vision-Language Models (VLMs) to act as automated evaluators for generated images and 3D objects, helping them score designs based on criteria that simulate human aesthetic preferences and technical requirements.
• Participate actively in an interdisciplinary research team, pushing the boundaries of generative AI and contributing to scientific publications.

What should you bring along?

• Studies in Computer Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a related field.
• Extensive programming experience in Python and practical knowledge of Deep Learning frameworks, particularly PyTorch and its ecosystem.
• Experience in customizing generative models for image or 3D generation, beyond standard university courses. A personal or advanced coursework project in this area is required.
• A scientific mindset and enthusiasm for applying cutting-edge research to real-world challenges.
• Ability to contribute in a collaborative and organized manner.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.
