Spring 2027 Full -Time Internship – Santa Monica, CA
January 11, 2027 – July 16, 2027
WHAT AWAITS YOU.
Support the Strategy and Foresight team by translating research and signals of change into actionable design insights
Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams (designers, consultants, researchers) to develop early-stage innovation concepts
Contribute to internal knowledge-building through trend analysis, cultural mapping, and future scenario exploration
Conduct market, behavioral, and technological trend research to inform project and client strategy
Organize and maintain an innovation archive (e.g., trend boards or foresight canvases) to support team inspiration and ideation
Assist in workshops, synthesis sessions, and deliverables development (e.g., vision decks, opportunity maps, strategy playbooks)
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING.
Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university
Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
Have completed at least 60 college credits or be at least a rising Junior
Field of study: Design Strategy, Innovation, Foresight, Business, Human-Centered Design, or a related field
Must attach a copy of college unofficial transcript
Ability to work full-time (36.25 hours/week)
Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international J1 students only)
Strong research, synthesis, and storytelling skills; ability to translate complex information into visual and written insights
Preferred: familiarity with collaborative tools (e.g., Figma, Miro, Adobe Suite) and strategic frameworks (e.g., STEEP, Futures Wheel)

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. This is a hybrid role that requires four in office days at the Santa Monica, CA office and one remote day.
The hourly rate for Undergraduate students is $29.90
The hourly rate for Graduate students is $36.80
The selected student's academic level will be used to determine the final pay rate. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
