SPEC. REGIONAL INFORMATION PROTECTION
BMW MEXICO
The Regional Information Protection Specialist drives the governance and execution of the Information Protection Program across the Americas region, ensuring the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of information assets throughout BMW Group operations. Working closely with Information Protection Delegates, business functions, security teams, and regional leadership, this role leads risk management activities, coordinates incident response efforts, and promotes information security awareness across multiple legal entities. Serving as a trusted cybersecurity advisor, this role strengthens the organization's security posture by integrating industry best practices and emerging security trends into regional strategies.
WHAT AWAITS YOU?Lead and coordinate the implementation of information protection standards, policies, and governance practices across BMW Group entities in the Americas region.
Act as a trusted advisor for information protection incidents, providing guidance, risk mitigation strategies, and support for effective resolution.
Design, develop, and deploy regional cybersecurity awareness and training programs to strengthen information protection capabilities across diverse business functions.
Conduct and coordinate risk assessments for critical information assets, identifying vulnerabilities and implementing measures to safeguard sensitive information and business processes.
Oversee the protection program for prototype vehicles and highly confidential information, ensuring adherence to BMW Group requirements and proactive risk management.
Support investigations related to information security events and electronic data analysis, evaluating business impacts and recommending corrective actions.
Collaborate with global and regional stakeholders while maintaining active engagement with cybersecurity communities and industry peers to incorporate emerging security practices into regional operations.
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Science or a related.
Master's degree in a relevant field is considered an advantage.
3 to 5 years of professional experience in Cybersecurity, Information Security or related IT Security functions.
Experience in risk assessments, information protection, audits, compliance, incident management, or investigations is highly desirable.
Knowledge of security frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001 and TISAX, is preferred.
Experience working in Agile environments and project management initiatives is an advantage.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present complex security topics to different leadership levels.
Fluent English communication skills; German language knowledge is considered a plus.
