We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to own month‑end IFRS close, budgeting and statutory accounts for our UK production operations. You’ll join a collaborative, high‑performing finance team that works closely with Shared Service Centres, tax and group reporting to deliver timely, accurate reporting. The role offers strong exposure to digital finance initiatives including automation, analytics and AI‑enabled tools, and the opportunity to influence process improvement and control enhancements. 

 

What awaits you

 

  • Prepare and submit accurate IFRS financial statements to headquarters on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare Budget and Forecast planning and submit to headquarters (five times a year).
  • Produce clear monthly financial review summaries and participate in planning cycles.
  • Lead preparation, organisation and submission of annual statutory accounts and manage the statutory audit process.
  • Make accounting judgements and support decision‑making in conjunction with senior finance leadership.
  • Use finance systems and tools (SAP S/4HANA, SAP SAC, IFS, MS Office) to resolve issues and improve reporting quality.
  • Identify and lead process improvements, automation and digital finance initiatives (advanced analytics, intelligent automation, AI).
  • Strengthen internal control mechanisms and contribute to the Internal Control System (ICS) environment.
  • Deputise for the Manager Financial Accounting when required and support cross‑functional finance relationships across local technologies, Shared Service Centre, tax, sub‑ledger, group reporting and IT partners.
  • Engage with external stakeholders including HMRC and external auditors.
  • Ownership of reporting processes with the opportunity to lead statutory accounts and continual improvement projects.
  • Lead adoption of AI‑enabled and next‑generation finance tools, including intelligent automation, predictive models and generative AI reporting.

 

What you should bring

 

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Sufficient experience in corporate accounting with exposure to statutory accounts and audits.
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office and SAP S/4HANA; familiarity with SAP SAC and IFS is an advantage.
  • Demonstrable interest and experience in digital finance, automation and analytics, including AI‑enabled finance processes and CoPilot‑style assistants in ERP/finance systems.
  • Coding experience (Python preferred) for automation/analytics use cases is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams and with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, make judgement calls and maintain high standards of accuracy and financial integrity.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to drive change across processes and systems.
