Description:
The intern will support onsite supplier logistics production to assure the supplier’s lineside delivery performance is in series by using efficient problem solving processes.
The qualified intern should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:
- Supplier requalification: support team with project management tasks including KPI reporting and status reports as well as 8D and FMEA.
- Wrong delivery prevention: analyzing data from 8D and FMEA to derive concrete solutions to address main contributors.
- LQS competency concept: support team with development of i-Learn classes and tracking of training completion.
- Reporting of KPI: conducts data processing in SAP. SQL, Power BI i.e. running weekly and daily reports. May include data mining, creating and maintaining visualization tools, etc.
- Supplier communication: support team with development.
- Maintain electronic team board as key user.
- Rack cleanliness project: audit the rack cleanliness weekly with GEMBA walks in Hall 50 + Hall 52 and document non-conformance for supplier charging.
- Zero Defect supply chain project: support team with project management tasks including KPI reporting and status reports as well as 8D and FMEA.
- Standardization of daily LQS activities of supplier communication of issues, LOP management and system updates.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong interpsonal and technical skills (experience using Power BI, SQL, Data Lake, etc. is a bonus).
- Microsoft Excel (experience with VLookup, Macros, etc. preferred).
- Detail-oriented.
- Organized.
- Effective communication skills.
- Work Term Dates: March 8th, 2027- September 17th, 2027.
- Must be enrolled at a university outside of the United States.
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on the US grading scale
- Must have completed a prior BMW internship of at least 3 months in length.
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
- Must provide the following paperwork in English.
