Network Development - Placement Year

START WITH WHAT DRIVES YOU.

At BMW Group, the best way to learn is by doing. From day one, you will be part of the team, trusted with real responsibility and encouraged to bring your own ideas. You will build practical experience, work with people across the business and contribute to projects shaping the future BMW and MINI retail experience.

BMW UK, National Sales Company, Farnborough - Network Development - Placement (July 2027)

Join our Network Development team and play a part in shaping the BMW and MINI customer experience across the UK. You will work alongside sixteen colleagues across Network Development and Network Performance, learning from experienced managers and specialists in network planning, contracts, facilities, Retail Standards, Retail.Next (Corporate Identity) and retailer projects. As part of the wider BMW UK Sales department, you will also gain a broader view of how teams across the business work together to support our retailer network and deliver for customers.

This is a varied placement where no two weeks will look exactly the same. You could be helping to create a retailer communication, reviewing information to spot an important trend, coordinating actions with a supplier or supporting a project that is bringing a new retail environment to life.

You will be trusted to take ownership of your work, ask questions and bring a fresh point of view. In return, you will gain practical skills, valuable connections and experience that will help you stand out when you return to university and begin your career.

What awaits you?

  • Support Retail.Next and the continued development of BMW and MINI retail spaces and customer experiences.
  • Work with retailers, auditors, architects and specialist suppliers to keep projects and actions moving.

  • Help keep the National Retailer Communications Portal up to date, useful and easy to navigate.
  • Help maintain process guides, reporting tools, action trackers and contract records.
  • Check AI-supported work carefully for accuracy, confidentiality and suitability.

What should you bring along?

  • You are studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Management, Marketing or a related subject and are on track to achieve at least a 2:1.
  • You are confident working with numbers and information, and can turn detail into clear, practical conclusions.

  • You communicate clearly and confidently, both in writing and when working with others.
  • You enjoy contributing ideas and are willing to try better ways of doing things.
  • You are a collaborative team player with a proactive, can-do approach.
  • You are interested in how digital and AI tools can support smarter, more efficient working.
  • Experience in retail, customer service or business support would be useful, but is not essential.
