Description:
The HR Service Center/Payroll Intern will experience the entire HR landscape by participating in process improvement, contributing to all activities in the HR Service Center, supporting Plant Spartanburg associate payroll per agreed upon deadlines and quality standards.
The qualified intern should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:
- Support new hire orientations and new hire meetings and ensure the entry paperwork is completed accurately, timely and within Federal regulations.
- Lead process improvement activities.
- Complete data analysis and create data visualizations and dashboards utilizing Power BI.
- Gather documentation from newly hired associates and follow-up for missing information.
- Support Plant Spartanburg’s service anniversary award program.
- Conduct new hire and payroll audits.
- Run reports and prepare data for audits, plant-wide reporting, and legal requests.
- Complete necessary audits for the Time Management team.
- Provide prompt customer service to Associates with general HR inquiries, payroll questions, and payroll-related policy questions.
- Complete payroll mail topics in a timely manner.
- Review and update process documentation.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Accounting, Finance or Information Technology.
- Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Analytical skills.
- Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
- Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
- MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT.
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
