Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is part of the BMW Group and its Goodwood manufacturing plant sits in the heart of the West Sussex countryside. As a student, you will have hands on experience from day one, gaining practical insights into the corporate operations of a world-class automotive manufacturer.
Body In White - Intern (Manufacturing) – Body In White (Manufacturing) - Placement Year (July 2027)
You will work alongside our ambitious quality specialists who work non-stop in ensuring our body shop quality targets are met and issues found are steered back to our body manufacturing partners in Germany. Furthermore, you will also support our production team in achieving their daily production requirements. Our team is seeking an intern to join from July 2027.
What awaits you?
- Supporting dimensional and quality checks on BIW structures
- Analysing build data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Assisting with root cause analysis and problem solving on quality issues
- Working with production teams to ensure build integrity and process adherence
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across BIW and Quality
- This placement offers a unique opportunity to understand how world-class quality is built from the ground up — forming the foundation of every Rolls-Royce motor car.
What should you bring along?
- Studying towards minimum of a 2:2 Bachelor degree - in Engineering, preferably mechanical-based.
- Strong relationship building skills and ability to show good inter-personal skills, showing exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational and time management skills, and ability to show high attention to detail to every task
- Ability to adapt working approach depending on specific requirements, prioritise activities, work under pressure, multi-task and solve problems.
- An enthusiastic team player who possesses solid interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to network/identify and communicate with process partners
- Proactive and able to use intuition to identify projects
- Highly Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal management input
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office and Outlook, knowledge of SAP is advantageous
