Who are we?
BMW Finance N.V., a 100% subsidiary of BMW AG and based in Rijswijk, is the largest Treasury Center within the BMW Group. We are responsible for a significant portion of the Group’s global treasury activities, covering a broad range of financing and investment responsibilities.
In close cooperation with our headquarters in Munich, BMW Finance N.V. coordinates the financial activities of BMW Group companies worldwide and works closely with treasury centers in the United States, Singapore, and China.
Your role | Accounting & Back Office
We have an excellent opportunity for a Treasury Accountant to join BMW Finance N.V. and make a real impact. You will work in a high‑performing team alongside motivated colleagues who continuously strive for excellence.
As part of the Accounting & Back Office team, you will ensure internal and external compliance with all requirements of payment obligations, including invoices, debt, and derivative transactions. You will play a key role within the BMW Group’s treasury function. You enjoy working with figures and are curious to understand the story behind the numbers.
In this role, you will be responsible for the full financial accounting process and will proactively contribute to improving processes within the Accounting & Back Office department. You will report to the Head of Accounting & Back Office and collaborate closely with the Treasury Front Office (Financing & Risk Management), Controlling, and Tax departments.
Your key responsibilities:
- Checking, confirming, and managing day‑to‑day treasury payments across global bank accounts
- Collaborating with and providing relevant treasury and accounting information to stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and headquarters
- Ensuring accurate, timely, and high‑quality monthly and quarterly reporting (group and statutory reporting, reporting to the Dutch Central Bank, etc.) in line with internal and external accounting guidelines
- Performing ad hoc financial analyses and preparing management presentations
- Actively contributing to company‑wide projects
- Continuously improving treasury processes and optimizing reporting activities
Who are we looking for?
You enjoy working with numbers and are curious to understand the story behind them. You can work independently while being a strong team player. You take ownership, are detail‑oriented, and are motivated to solve complex challenges. You communicate clearly and effectively at different levels within the organization and actively contribute to innovation.
Due to the complexity and responsibilities of this role, we are looking for someone with:
- An HBO or university degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Fluency in English (Dutch and German are an advantage)
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Approximately five years of relevant work experience (a suitable candidate with more or less work experience will be considered)
- Experience at a Big Four audit firm, in banking or at a corporate treasury is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and hands‑on experience is an advantage
- An entrepreneurial and proactive mindset with a collaborative attitude
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
We recognize that there is no single ideal profile for this role and value diverse professional backgrounds. Suitable candidates may include — but are not limited to — professionals with relevant experience gained in a corporate treasury function or within a banking environment, as well as Big Four accountants possibly with exposure to banking and/or treasury clients.
What we offer you
- A contract for four working days per week (31.2 hours)
- 19.2 vacation days and 4.8 ADV days
- A personal bonus based on individual goals and professional development
- A company bonus based on organizational and personal performance
- 8% holiday allowance
- A collective defined‑contribution pension scheme
- Travel allowance
