Description:

  • Support the ramp up of our battery production by developing digital solutions that increase product quality, efficiency and data transparency. Working to correlate large data systems together and creating insights that intuitively guide our engineers to more efficient problem solving.
  • Lead the development of Digital solutions in relation to Data Science, Software Engineering and AI, that are directly implemented to support project success.
  • Identify and act upon opportunities to improve processes and systems by applying technical knowledge.
  • Plans and implements improvements within Battery Plant related to the specific digitalization strategy.
  • Take ownership of project areas, taking a solution from inception to delivery and presenting the results to management.
  • Participates in cross-functional project teams supporting activities to derive insights during our production ramp up.
  • Supports Plant / Battery Plant targets and goals for Production, Quality, Safety and Costs.
  • Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
  • Complex data pipeline development for key IT systems to enable analytics.
  • Develop Intuitive Dashboards and Data Systems to support decision making.
  • App development for automating/digitalizing manual processes.
  • Support validation and refinement of current application landscape.
  • Help to deliver plant wide digitalization strategy, adoption of Digital Twin.
  • Steer the rollout of centrally provided solutions from requirements management, training and user acceptance testing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering or similar degree.
  • Preferred Technical Skills: Data: SQL, Python, Pandas, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Athena, Glue.
  • Dashboards: Amazon Quicksight, Grafana, Splunk, PowerBI
  • Software/Apps: Cloud (AWS/Azure), NodeJS, Angular, Oracle APEX
  • Other: Office Proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint), GitHub (CI/CD)
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Innovative Mindset: A proactive approach with creativity, project management capability, and a knack for entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Database Knowledge: A grasp of various database systems is beneficial to support development of ETL/ELT processes.
  • Analytical Expertise: Adept in areas such as data mining, machine learning, statistical signal processing, and pattern recognition.
  • Proficiency in AI Tools: LLMs i.e. ChatGPT, Co-Pilot, Claude etc.
  • Data Analyst MyTMS Curriculum.
  • Production System Proficiency: IPM, Serafina, IPSC, IPST etc.
  • Project steering
  • Presentation techniques
  • BMW Project work international within the Gen6 Network (TS)
  • Applied Technical Understanding
  • Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • THE WORK TERM DATES ARE Aug 10th – Dec 18th, 2026.
