As a Software Engineering Senior Specialist you will be responsible for system analysis, design, development, and testing of assigned technical products and applications within an agile/DevOps delivery model. Your ability to drive change and innovation from both a technical and business perspective will be essential, as well as your skill in advocating for new technologies within formal and informal networks. As a fully-fledged member of an Agile feature team, you will have the opportunity to support and even lead agile ceremonies while refining business and technical requirements. You will also extend your development responsibilities to encompass Operations topics, fostering a true DevOps culture. In this position, you will play a key role as a Scrum Master, ensuring alignment of AWM at BMW both internally and externally with assigned vendors. You will be responsible for keeping project KPIs updated, reporting on, and delivering projects within the assigned budget, time, and scope.
What awaits you?
- Lead the creation of detailed technical requirements and collaborate with business analysts and product leads to analyze business needs.
- Develop new applications and features within an Agile process, serving as Scrum Master and mentoring mid-level developers.
- Implement automated test cases and maintain deployment pipelines to ensure quality control and deployment agility.
- Document standard operating procedures and resolve escalated support issues to ensure high availability of critical applications.
- Plan and execute upgrades for existing applications and advocate for customer-centric systems that enhance user experience.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards while reporting to senior management.
- Provide cloud support, including proactive alerts and KPI monitoring.
What should you bring along?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 3 to maximum 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python; experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and CI/CD tools.
- Demonstrated experience as a Scrum Master or in leading Agile ceremonies, with a solid understanding of Agile principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to create innovative solutions using a cloud-native toolchain.
- Experience mentoring junior or mid-level developers and conducting code reviews to promote best practices in secure coding.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
