Intern, Interaction Design - Summer/Fall 2025

WHAT AWAITS YOU.

  • The Interaction Design Intern will assist the Interaction Design team and participate as a content creating project team member on projects for BMW Brands, internal initiatives, and external clients
  • The intern will aid on projects across industries from automotive to consumer products to capital equipment to public transportation and infrastructure
  • Projects the intern will undertake will cover investigations ranging from traditional digital methods (desktop/app/screen) to new methods of interaction (AR/VR/haptics/gesture/phygital)
  • Support the Interaction Design team with contextual research for a variety of client projects
  • Support the Interaction Design team with design proposals for a variety of client projects
  • Support the Interaction Design team in the research and development of new tools and technologies
  • Support the LA studio in internal initiatives across departments

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING.

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university 
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
  • Have completed at least 60 college credits or be at least a rising Junior
  • Field of study: Graphic Design, Interaction Design, User Experience Design (UX), or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) 
  • Must attach a copy of college unofficial transcript
  • Ability to work full-time (36.25 hours/week)
  • Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international J1 students only)
  • Proficiency in design tools like Sketch, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Familiar with prototyping tools like Figma, ProtoPie, or FramerGood verbal and written presentation skills, proficient in MS Suite (Power Point)

This is a full-time internship position for our Summer/Fall Rotation, from July 14, 2025 through December 12, 2025 in Santa Monica, CA.

 

The hourly rate for Undergraduate students is $25.30

The hourly rate for Graduate students is $32.20

The selected student's academic level will be used to determine the final pay rate. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
