






Paint Shop Materials & Environmental Co-Op (FALL 2025)

From the beginning, students are entrusted with specific responsibilities, ensuring they play a significant role in their learning journey. As valued team members, students are also encouraged to share and implement their own ideas, enhancing both their personal growth and the collective success of the team.
Support and lead projects to improve quality of processes supporting use of Paint Shop materials.
Determine root cause of defects related to process materials within Paint Shop.
Paint shop consumes the largest amount of natural resources across the plant; it is crucial to constantly be working on ways to reduce energy consumption and water usage for sustainable production of BMW X-Vehicles.
Maintain quality of all materials in paint shop
Validate and integrate new materials
Reduce energy consumption
Manage paint suppliers and escalation topics
Various production-critical tasks
Launching BMW Individual Colors and Matte Colors
Trialing new materials (PVC, wax, clearcoat, etc.)
Energy reduction projects
- Engineering Degree
- Knowledge of Thermodynamics (Heat and Mass Transfer)
- Willingness to work in a production environment
- Flexible; good at multitasking and prioritizing
- Good at working with people
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
- Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
Must be an enrolled student during all three rotations.
- Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
- MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
- THE WORK TERM DATES ARE August 11th-December 12th, 2025.
