





Cubing/Measurement Co-op (Fall 2025)

Description
- The Prüfcubing process uses a specially machined car body to evaluate the buildability, geometric fit, function and overall maturity of interior and exterior parts during and after a new model launch. The Prüfcubing is a highly visible part of a new model launch and works together with several departments including Development, Assembly and Supplier Quality.Primary responsibility will be to support all facets of a Prüfcubing Loop including planning, hardware preparation, problem documentation and root cause analysis.
- After each loop, the co-op will support the TX-52 Product Integration teams, following problems identified in the cubing though the problem solving process.
The qualified Co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:
- Preparing Parts and Tooling for the Day’s Build.
- Validating the quality level of the parts delivered for the Cubing Loop.
- Clear and Concise documentation of the defects found during the Cubing loop.
- Containment tracking for critical defects found during the cubing loop.
- Vehicle fastener commonization project.
- Pruefcubing parts inventory system projectPruefcubing event dashboard project.
- Pruefcubing event livestreaming project.
- Pruefcubing event problem documentation automation.
- Exposure to all departments and management levels in the plant.
- Opportunity to learn and participate in the Metrology function.
- Opportunities to work with the supply base supporting BMW. Hands on experience building the vehicle as well as problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Exposure to the production line for Bodyshop and Assembly.
- Other duties as assigned by managment.
Qualifications
- Preferred Majors: Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering.
- Good communication and technical writing Skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint.
- Self-Motivated and able to work independently.
- Preferred:
- German Language Skills
- Experience with CAD Software
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
- Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
- Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
- MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
