Metrology Specialist At/Offline

As Metrology Specialist (At-/Offline), you will be in charge of ensuring the provision of reliable geometrical quality data into the painted body technology (press shop, body shop, paint shop) based on the BMW measurement strategy, enabling geometrical quality targets for the customer and internal process partners are met.

You will be setting up the geometrical inspection process during the design phase, and control and steer the dimensional quality inspection during the production phases for the products and sub-products, supporting the geometrical quality teams and quality loops to fulfill a sustainable problem-solving process.

 

 

What awaits you?

  • Planning and implementing the required measurement routines, utilizing different measurement systems and concepts, supporting the product methodology specialist.
  • Preparing and executing geometrical analysis on the product and production resources, using CAx technologies and coordinate measurement machines (CMM, GOM, Laser Tracker,…).
  • Supporting the strategies for geometrical Q-problem analysis on the product, body in white assemblies, pressed parts, and production resources.
  • Representation of the measuring technology on project and problem solving meetings.
  • Managing and moderating sampling inspection discussions with external and internal partners at BMW, development of agreed corrective measures.
  • Coordinating and tracking of Q-work in the realization teams.
  • Participate on acceptance procedures for new measuring systems and system handover to the equipment user, ensuring compliance with all technical and statistical requirements.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Degree in Engineering (mechanical, industrial, electrical, metrology) or related field of study.
  • At least 3 years of experience in similar positions in the automotive Industry, specifically in Body in White or Press plant production.
  • Knowledge in tactile and optical measurement systems (Inline/Offline metrology e.g. CMM, GOM Scanbox, Leica Lasertracker, ISRA, ZEISS AiMax …).
  • Knowledge in CAD, measurement databases and metrology softwares (Quartis, Polyworks, GOM, eMMA, IDA, Catia…).
  • Knowledge of SPC tools, 6 sigma, MSA studies, geometrical tolerances.
  • Hungarian and English working proficiency is required. German proficiency would be an advantage. Language courses available.
