BMW Motorrad team is looking for an Area Business Specialist responsible for managing East/Quebec region. Preferred location is Richmond Hill, but open to candidates in Eastern Ontario/Quebec with flexibility to relocate to HQ at Richmond Hill, Ontario in the future. Candidate should be bilingual in English and French languages.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Promotes and fosters an atmosphere that motivates and engages retail sales organization.
- Develops and implement annual and monthly plans to ensure that retail volume targets for new motorcycles and customer support targets are achieved.
- Tracks and manages retailer performance on key metrics including:
- Sales funnel management categories (e.g. lead documentation, test rides, FS offer, lead follow-up).
- Sales performance YoY, vs. BU and against bonus - Market/segment share.
- Effectiveness of local dealer marketing activities.
- P&A development.
Monitoring vehicle inventory and production to help ensure an appropriate model mix of new vehicle inventory for the achievement of monthly and annual Retailer budgets.
- Model mix, stock levels and months’ supply.
- NPS sales & service including verbatim.
- F&I performance including BMSi or other programs
Performs regular market share analysis on a regional and market area basis to ensure that BMW Group Canada is maximizing volume opportunities in a given market. Develop recommendations for improvement of market share in assigned territory.
- Develops action plans in cooperation with the retailers and any relevant NSC staff in order to address shortcomings in any of the key performance metrics. Measure their effectiveness and ensure course correction.
- Establishes a customer-focused environment within the retail network, ensuring CSI target achievement and implementing measures to boost genuine customer satisfaction. Escalate critical customer situations within the NSC as necessary and work with the CiC and relevant internal departments (case-dependent) to resolve them.
- Establishes & maintains close relationships with Retailers, including regular visits, virtual meetings, and contacts with Retailer Principals, General Managers and Sales Managers, ensuring the following:
- BMW Motorrad is maintained at a high level of focus within the dealership, in particular at shared/adjacent facilities.
- Policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Sales and marketing programs/initiatives are understood and implemented by the relevant staff.
- Product knowledge (BMW Motorrad and competition) is maintained at maximum standards.
- Sales process and product knowledge-related training materials are available and utilized.
- Ensures that all sales personnel maintain a contact follow-up system.
- Prepares contact reports following each visit to a retailer in order to ensure detailed documentation of each discussion, in particular taking note of decisions made and retailer/NSC commitments.
- Works with Sales Managers and GMs to ensure accurate and timely weekly sales forecasting; encourage timely input of RDRs.
- Protects the image of BMW Motorrad and its products by ensuring its Retailer organization provides the facilities and services that BMW Motorrad owners are entitled to and expect when purchasing a BMW motorcycle.
- Develops and secures retailer buy-in for annual retail and customer support budgets, based on the NSC targets, including model mix and calendarization, in cooperation with ZX-V4-CA-S.
- Reviews the financial structure and financial operating efficiency of the dealership with the assistance of the Retailer Development Manager to ensure the achievement of financial strength, stability and increase profitability; develops marketing concepts or plans on a local level to increase sales.
- Assists Retailer Development in making first contact with possible candidates, assist in guiding the dealer candidate through the application and launch process, perform on-going in-dealership training to ensure the dealer’s best chance of success.
- Ensures retailer enrollment in all available and required technical and non-technical trainings pertinent to specific issues regarding BMW Motorrad products, processes, and dealership operations.
- Partner with BMW FS counterpart on collaborative sales needs - Portfolio Management, 3asy Ride financing, etc.
- Visual Merchandising – Support Visual Merchandise Guide to ensure compliance, ensure the layout and fixtures on hand are aligned with dealer targets, and that all available fixtures are replenished and stocked.
- Works directly with TSARA and Customer Relations to ensure effective resolution to customer queries
- Ensures the flawless and timely operation of all warranty and good-will related processes, between customers and dealers, following BMW Motorrad guidelines.
Qualifications.
- University Degree, preferable in Business Administration and or Management or equivalent retail/wholesale OEM experience
- 3-5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Sales, Aftersales, Distribution, Marketing, Business Management Experience, and Dealer Development.
- Prior dealer facing role in an OEM highly preferred.
Data driven; well developed analytical skills and the ability to formulate strategies supported by data
Power to sell, persuade, and convince Retail management with strong business proposals supported by factual data and a strong understanding of the retail environment
Willingness to embrace and utilize new automotive technologies with a strong understand of digital retail (incl. lead management, social marketing)
- Fluent in English and French.
- Highly developed interpersonal and relationship skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute complex tasks and objectives in an independent work environment.
- Working knowledge of multiple software, database and IT systems.
- Accommodate overnight travel and extended, non-traditional working hours.
- Motorcycle riding license highly preferred.
