We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied working student occupation in the IT area of master data for our customers, brands and sales with a focus on agile working methods. The main focus of the tasks is on Site Reliability Engineering, as a link between the IT operations processes and the software development processes of our IT systems. The IT system landscape is as diverse as the colleagues in the teams and the tasks.

 

What awaits you?

  • Design and implement automated testing frameworks for software applications using TypeScript, Java, and Gherkin.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate repetitive IT tasks and workflows, as well as document the automation processes and train colleagues on their usage.
  • Integrate automation solutions with existing IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Monitor and optimize automated processes to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Continuously research and evaluate new automation technologies and best practices.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of GitHub workflows using YAML to enhance the efficiency of the software development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to a variety of coding projects across multiple domains, adapting to the team's evolving needs.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, JavaScript
  • Experience with automation tools like GitHub CI/CD (Selenium, Playwright optional).
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile/DevOps methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze processes and identify opportunities for automation.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to debug and optimize automated workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
