This is a full-time internship position for our Fall Rotation, from October 21, 2024 through March 21, 2025 in Mountain View, CA.
As an Intelligence Personal Assistant (IPA) Intern you are supporting development and testing of our Large Language Model (LLM) based voice assistant. You are supporting in organizing our current development activities with our partners in the Silicon Valley, as well as with the evaluation of other providers of LLM-based solutions and competitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate and optimize Large Language Models (LLMs) for edge computing within vehicles
Conduct beta testing of LLMs to ensure robust performance and user satisfaction
Develop strategies for the ongoing validation and verification of LLMs throughout the development lifecycle
Work with third-party content providers to expand and enrich the capabilities of BMW’s Intelligent Personal Assistant
Organizing collaboration and testing events with existing and new partners

The hourly rate for Undergraduate students is $32.50
The hourly rate for Graduate students is $40

Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university
Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
Have completed at least 30 college credit hours at time of application
Field of study: Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
Must attach a copy of college unofficial transcript
Ability to work full-time (36.25 hours/week)
Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international J1 students only)
Proficiency in programming languages relevant to AI and machine learning
Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and leadership skills
Strong analytical capabilities, passion for software development and digital products
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization
Preferences:
Languages: English and German (fluent, oral, and written)
Experience in the automotive industry
