Perf Center Body & Paint Tech Level III:

  • Repairs body damages to BMW vehicles while following repair procedures and quality standards, within the prescribed flat rate times.
  • Performs all scheduled vehicle maintenance, repair work, and functional tests, and places part orders for vehicles following repair procedures and quality standards, within the prescribed flat rate times.
  • Performs quality inspection and functional testing on each vehicle repaired, to ensure that the problems have been corrected, and that the repair meets the BMW standard.
  • Maintains time records of repair/warranty work and updates all pertinent warranty, repair, and campaign documentation.
  • Utilizes test equipment, technical information systems, parts ordering, flat rate system, damage code system, and special tools.
  • Trains new technicians.
  • Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.
  • Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

 Qualifications - External
  • Technical or vocational Auto Body and Paint Repair program completion.
  • 2+ years as an automotive or body shop technician
  • Valid driver s license in good standing per BMW Vehicle Administration Program
  • 1+ years demonstrated knowledge of car body repair techniques.
  • 1+ years demonstrated ability to use the equipment required for body repair.
  •  1+ years knowledge of metal working.
  •  1+ years knowledge of welding.
  •  1+ years knowledge of sanding and blocking.
  •  1+ years of demonstrated ability to repair a vehicle to pre-accident condition.
  • 1+ years of knowledge of luxury brand repair techniques.
  • 1+ years of automotive paint refinishing, products, and application.
  •  I-CAR or ASE Certification (preferred).
  •  2+ years of experience using a frame bench (preferred).
