As a Chemist – Surface and Adhesives at BMW Group Plant Debrecen, you will support laboratory processes related to car manufacturing, providing the most advanced technical background.
What awaits you?
Work environment – In our new laboratory at Debrecen you will planning and purchasing of laboratory equipment as well as implementing the analytical measurement instruments according to health, safety and environment standards.
Core responsibilities – You will analyse of failures and quality control of materials in the field of paints (e.g. color measurement), corrosion protection (e.g. corrosion testing) and adhesives (e.g. body adhesive-audit). Sampling and sample preparation interpretation of results and appropriate recommendations documented in comprehensive technical reports.Operating of testing equipments in calibration, service and/or maintenance (e.g. corrosion testing, rheometer, colour measurement, etc.) and other laboratory equipments (e.g. band saw, cutting machines, etc.).
Transfer of results – You will give technical and non-technical presentations - to management, internal teams and suppliers.
New analysis methods – You will establish new analysis methods and the continuous improvement of the existing analysis processes.
Administration – You will write quality and safety relevant documents such as work and operating instructions.
What should you bring along?
Education background - degree (e. g. bachelor/Master degree) in the field of chemistry, materials science or a comparable profession.
Work experience - in the analytical environment and in chemical technical laboratoriesin the automotive production, coatings, surfaces, adhesives, workshop tools (e.g. saws, drills, grinders, etc.) and laboratory based material analysis.
Technical knowledge - of paint chemistry and technology is desirable. Enjoy planning and organizing as well as working in the laboratory, ability to familiarize yourself with new analysis methods.
Openness to travel - Flexibility and willingness to travel abroad.
Language skils - Very good knowledge of spoken and written English, knowledge of the German language is an advantage.
Soft skills - Team spirit and joy to work together with people, such as capable of working alone and in a multi-functional team. Good presentation and communication skills with an analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
