Our Summit ONE in Farnborough is home to the National Sales Company for the BMW Group in the UK, as well as BMW Group Financial Services which offers retailers, corporate and private customers a range of customised financial services. Alphabet (GB) Ltd. as a leading provider of Business Mobility Services is also located in Farnborough. We decided in November 2020 to bring together BMW Financial Services and Alphabet to stay relevant to our customers and continue to succeed in a rapidly changing business environment.

BMW UK, Financial Services, Farnborough – Customer, Strategy & ESG – 13 Month Placement (July 2026)

 

The Customer, Strategy & ESG team is responsible for the development and implementation of corporate strategy, customer strategy and Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) activities for BMW Group Financial Services and Alphabet UK.

 

In this varied and interesting student placement, you’ll be responsible for guiding the on-going development and monitoring of business strategy. You will help drive this through customer and market analysis, presentation of insights and stakeholder communication, meaning you’ll play an integral part in organisational development and the achievement of company objectives. Additionally, you will assist with the communication of strategy and insights, in collaboration with the internal communications team.

 

What awaits you?

  • Support the Head of Customer Strategy in steering the business strategy development process, this involves working with the C-level Management Committee and the various functional leadership across the business.
  • Deliver the tracking and reporting of progress against transformation targets, and status of key strategic initiatives.
  • Produce and present customer insight reporting, highlighting pain points and customer successes in the customer journey, and guiding change in the relevant business areas.
  • Deliver internally and externally sourced market insight reports, presented to teams and committees across the business.
  • Supporting with the development, communication and monitoring of Sustainability strategy and initiatives.
  • Support all aspects of our Customer Driven Organisation, including our decision-making Customer Committee.
  • Ensure continued engagement and alignment with international BMW Group entities, including headquarter function in Munich and virtual attendance at BMW Group global meetings.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Studying for an undergraduate degree in Business Management or similar and in line to achieve a 2:1 or above.
  • Basic customer services experience (i.e. retail/hospitality).
  • Microsoft Office (incl. PowerPoint) advantageous.
  • Quick to pick up IT applications (online tools, project management tools etc.).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical and analytical mindset.
  • Attention to detail and intellectual curiosity.
  • Able to show an interest in sustainability and sustainable practices.
