BMW Financial Services, Farnborough - Pensions - 13 Month Placement (July 2026)
What awaits you?
The pensions intern is responsible for supporting the Pensions Finance and Accounting team and Asset and Liability manager with various tasks associated with the administration of BMW Group’s pension plans in the United Kingdom.
- Support the Pensions Finance and Accounting team with inbox/post administration, bank reconciliations, journal entries in SAP, supplier and investment manager payments, and managing approval processes with management and the Trustees.
- Monitor and track investment management costs, ensuring fees align with agreements and approvals, and collate relevant documents from investment managers.
- Assist the Asset and Liabilities Manager with pension scheme investments, coordinating with investment managers to ensure all necessary documentation is in place and handling tax documentation.
- Liaise with external providers to ensure all required documentation is filed correctly and kept up to date.
- Organise and support various committee meetings, including scheduling, agendas, and minute-taking as needed.
- Provide broader support to the pensions team to ensure accurate financial records and smooth operational processes.
What should you bring along?
- Studying towards a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or business-oriented degree and on course to achieve (2:2 or above).
- Highly numerate; able to undertake and check complex calculations.
- High level of self-motivation and ability to work well under pressure.
- Communication skills, both verbal and written. Communicates effectively and proactively.
- Experience of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint software.
- Dilligence and attention to detail due to the nature of finance and large sums of money being transacted.
