BMW Financial Services Farnborough – Customer Journey – 13 Month Placement (July 2026)

What awaits you?

  • Monitor and support Process Automation Governance/RPA review cycles and dashboards; assist with maintaining Jira and Confluence to support Agile delivery.
  • Assist in building and evaluating ML models (predictive analytics, anomaly detection, forecasting) and learning data science techniques to generate business value.
  • Support automation initiatives from initial assessments to RPA assessments, including the creation of PDDs/SDDs and development requirements.
  • Help with stakeholder engagement on Process Automation, Agentic AI, and AI topics; collaborate with Data Management, Product Owners, Agile Masters, and senior staff.
  • Promote data science awareness across the business, participate in knowledge sharing, and contribute to a data-driven transformation.
  • Learn and contribute to a customer-focused mindset, assist with change management, stay curious about emerging AI/automation techniques, and help deliver tangible outcomes.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Currently studying a university degree in Data Science/Analytics/AI Governance, aiming for a 2:2.
  • Communication, influence, facilitation, collaboration, and a proactive, professional mindset (outgoing, inquisitive, confident; ability to adapt approach and challenge the status quo).
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with data‑focused thinking; proficient in data handling, cleaning, feature extraction, and basic analytics concepts.
  • Data science foundation: basic programming skills (Python or R) with familiarity in libraries (pandas, scikit‑learn) and SQL querying; ability to work at both detailed and high level.
  • Multi‑tasking and prioritisation: able to work under pressure, manage priorities, and handle multiple activities simultaneously.
  • MS Office proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and a demonstrated willingness to learn about AI, automation, and data handling.
