JOBS IN MAINTENANCE.

IT IS JUST GREAT WHEN HUMAN AND MACHINE GET ALONG SO WELL.

Production at the BMW Group is highly automated and equipped with the latest technology. However, it does not run by itself. Only when the people behind the machines are passionate, can our vehicles be made to the highest quality. Both, independently and as a part of a team, our Maintenance experts achieve extraordinary things while contributing to automotive history.

Our motivated colleagues from various Maintenance teams ensure the highest quality of processes along our entire value chain. They are responsible for the operation, maintenance, inspection, and optimisation of all automatic systems in the respective production area.

Insights into Maintenance.

Instandhaltung bei der BMW Group.

Working together to ensure that quality can be produced non-stop. Take a look at what makes the job in maintenance so special for our colleagues.

Tarik

"I am Tarik and I work as a technical specialist in electrical maintenance. One of the systems we maintain and optimise at the BMW Group is the HEAT rotor, an electrically excited synchronous motor (ESM)."

What our colleagues say.

"The atmosphere in the team is very familiar, everyone helps each other and supports each other – this makes the work particularly fun. I especially like the robots and how they work so precisely and accurately in conjunction with the many components such as cameras and sensors."

"The tasks in plant finishing are very varied and let me combine mechanical and electrical maintenance. Despite, or rather because of, the high ratio of men in my area, I feel incredibly comfortable and really enjoy coming to my workplace."

ALEXANDRA.

"I particularly like the teamwork and the broad range of technologies. We benefit from various techniques here, from camera testing to bonding or welding. What is extremely exciting for me is the linking of the different technologies in an uninterrupted system."

DANIJEL.

"I did various internships as an electronics technician and a mechanic. I liked it best as an electronics technician. I stayed with that and got a job as a maintenance technician after my apprenticeship. In the meantime, as a forewoman, I take over the organisational tasks as a link between master and maintenance."

ANDREA.

"Due to my position as a foreman, I especially enjoy the interpersonal interaction. At the same time, the job also challenges me technically and the many different technologies in maintenance create an exciting work environment."

"We take care of faults in the plants or optimisation needs. We are allowed to bring in our own proposals for solutions and coordinate everything ourselves from the genesis of our idea to its implementation. Once a solution is implemented, it can have a decisive effect and e.g. increase occupational safety."
