Life in Schaumburg and Illinois.

Schaumburg is a community of about 75,000 where German was the first language of the majority of households until the 1950s. It is now regarded as the economic center of northwest Chicago.

It lies 28 miles (45 km) northwest of Chicago near the junction of Interstates 90 and 290 and is located 10 miles (16 km) northwest of O’Hare International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world. Trains take under one hour to Chicago’s Union Station, making it an ideal location to sample the exciting arts, entertainment and nightlife that Chicago offers.

As the 5th most populous state, Illinois also has a booming economy and is the 2nd wealthiest U.S. state in terms of average household income.

It has long had a reputation as a bellwether for economic, social and cultural trends in the United States.

The climate is typical of Illinois: wet, cool springs, hot and often humid summers, mild autumns and cold winters. Schaumburg has 90 miles (145 km) of cycling paths and was the first community in Illinois officially recognized as a Bicycle Friendly Community.

With its excellent schools, a superb park district, great golfing, and the Legoland Discovery Center, Schaumburg is a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family.

The area is extremely well served by the kind of high-quality education, healthcare services and other amenities you’d expect from such an affluent region.

The Central Region opened in October 1979 and moved to the current facility in August 1989, which is located in the Northeast part of Schaumburg, Illinois.

Driving on interstate 90 – which crosses the entire US from Seattle all the way to Boston in the East – you will most definitely notice the Central Region office and training building. Directly located next to the highway the iconic building is also connected to the industry part of Schaumburg, offering a great infrastructure.

The 20,000 square foot building has one floor and is owned by BMW NA. The newly re-furnished facility is divided into two parts – while one side belongs to the Central Region Office with all its responsible departments, the other half is used for Technical Trainings for both BMW and MINI dealers.
