The United States is one of the largest markets in the world for the BMW Group. With sales of over 390,000 vehicles in 2014, 18% of the group's worldwide transactions, BMW is one of the best-selling premium brands in the US.
Today, the BMW Group in the United States consists of marketing, sales and financial services organizations for the BMW brand of motor vehicles, including motorcycles, MINI and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
The BMW Group sales organization is represented in the U.S. through a network of over 600 dealerships. The BMW Group’s sales headquarters for North America is located in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey.
Included under the BMW Group umbrella in the US is BMW of North America, LLC, BMW Financial Services NA, LLC in New Jersey and Ohio; DesignworksUSA, Inc., a strategic design consultancy in California, as well as BMW of North America, LLC technology offices in Silicon Valley and the BMW Technology Corporation in Chicago.
Also in the US we have BMW Manufacturing Co., LLC in South Carolina, part of BMW Group’s global production network, which employs 8,000 people to produce the X3 and X5 Sports Activity Vehicle and the X4 and X6 Sports Activity Coupe. The 1,150-acre, 5-million-square-foot campus generates its own power, offers an on-site Family Health Center and provides 24-hour security and firefighting personnel. To date, BMW has invested nearly $7 billion in its South Carolina operations.
