We coordinate the planning and implementation of software rollouts across the defined releases of a pan European IT ecosystem. Our Team monitors planned changes to IT systems and ensure that all aspects of a release are considered altogether (functional and non-functional). The main objective is to enable with software releases and at the same time protect the quality and stability of the end-to-end integrated test and production environments of the IT ecosystem, by using formal procedures and control mechanisms.
What awaits you?
- You will establish relevant processes, governance roles and boards to holistically conduct the release management.
- You will coordinate all activities related to the introduction of new software releases across the IT ecosystem.
- As part of your job, you will define prerequisites for DevOps teams and establish processes for traceable and incident-free release bundles and release approval criteria for both productive and non-productive environments.
- You will coordinate release planning, define release versioning, and release milestones for each phase of the project.
- You will define and align with DevOps teams’ deployment windows and establish a release management calendar for the project.
- You will implement and track the release management approach in our Agile Tool Chain tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence).
- You will validate release notes against the project’s scope and check release dependencies across the project.
- You will manage the interface to other overarching release management teams (e.g. BMW Bank).
- You will conduct the release approval (go /no-go decision) under the consideration of agreed acceptance criteria, dependencies to parallel projects and the IT environments calendar.
- You will manage the release communication, establish, and lead a release management network and community of practice, comprising release managers from DevOps teams across the project.
What you should bring along?
- University Degree in computer science, business informatics or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of relevant experience as release or technical project manager.
- Practical knowledge in the area of system integrationCI/CD tools, automated testing tools, application operation is an advantage.
- Several years of experience in designing and developing complex IT systems as well as a passion for modern software architectures, technology stacks and cloud services.
- Experienced with the agile methods (e.g. Scrum) and Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence).
- Business fluent in English and German.
