Software Architect POSIX Software Platform - Autonomous Driving (f/m/x)

We design and implement embedded software for electronic control units of the BMW cars as well as related tools and frameworks. By delivering software all the way from the idea to the final product we lead BMW into the future of digitalization and mobility.

We design, implement, integrate, and test embedded software for the electronic control units of BMW Group cars. In an international working environment, you create the Safe Software Platform that enables driver assistance software for the future generation of our vehicles. This Safe Software Platform includes the BSP, a Safe POSIX operating system, Adaptive AUTOSAR middleware, and SoC life cycle components.

What awaits you?

• You start with system requirements and break them down to software platform requirements like life cycle, system resources, the feature set, resource budgets, security and safety requirements, etc.
• You sketch the concepts and the ideas, design and evaluate your solution, and finally integrate and test the software on both simulators and target hardware.
• The requirements elicitation, design, implementation, integration, and testing of a modern POSIX based Software Platform will be one of your tasks.
• You coordinate new features and changes on the system architecture.
• You are responsible for cross cutting (quality) requirements like the overall performance, security and safety aspects of the Software Platform.

What you should bring along?

• University degree in Computer Sciences or a related subject.
• Professional experience in embedded software engineering in Linux or QNX based embedded systems.
• Strong expertise in Adaptive AUTOSAR or a similar middleware.
• Strong knowledge in one or more of the following fields: system design, network technologies and configuration, real time systems, functional safety.
• Expertise in software integration techniques and CI (e.g. build & automation tools like Bazel and Python).
• Expertise in C++ software development is an advantage.
• ISO26262, ISO21434 and ASPICE expertise is an advantage.
• Business-fluent English, good German is a plus.
