As Metrology IT Specialist you will be in charge of setting up the metrology IT-Systems, programs and equipment for painted body (process chain press shop, body shop, paint shop) based on the BMW measurement strategy and painted body reference system to ensure geometrical quality targets for the customer as also internal process partners.
You are setting up and maintaining all IT-Systems related the geometry control processes to control and steer the dimensional quality during the production-phase. Your focus beside setting up and updating the measurement programs, you take fully responsibility for all IT-Systems used in the metrology and quality areas, maintain and update all related IT-Systems, being key-user and first contact person for metrology related IT-Systems.
Together with your team members you work on assign tasks and create enthusiasm for target fulfillment through emotional vision.
What awaits you?
PM management/PEP: Conceptual design of test equipment specifications taking into account FDC with quality management parts and suppliers, representation of the interests of measuring technology and QA departments in test equipment kickoff meetings.
Measurement execution based on ready-made measurement programs with coordination machines, GOM, Inline- Equipment, including all required setup and preparatory work, including production release.
Product development and pre-series: evaluating and analysing single part sampling inspection, mounting support, and cubing results regarding the effects in the assembly and the complete vehicle and, derived from that, definition of necessary corrective measures also from an economic point of view.
Analysing and plausibility check of the feasibility of measuring and FDC concepts; consulting and support and error analysis for QI and product methodologist.
Preparation and agreement of QM documents.
Problem analysis and error correction for technical malfunctions in measuring systems upon request by the operating company, error correction coordination for larger malfunctions.
Planning, realization, test, optimization, and support of the CA, system, and IT environment in measuring technology as coordinator for the specialist department.
What should you bring along?
Degree in engineering (metrology, mechanical, electrical) information technology or related field of study.
At least 3 years of experience in similar positions in the Automotive Industry.
Deep knowledge within metrology IT-Systems and CAD-Systems, database and measurement software (CATIA, POLYWORKS, GOM, eMIL, eMMA, QUARTIS, IDA, JIM, PRISMA,…).
Knowledge measurement systems (Inline and Offline Measurement Systems e.g. ZEISS AiMax, GOM Scanbox, LEICA Lasertracker, ISRA Measurement Systems, …).
Knowledge in measurement data management and analytics, FMK or RPS; process capability and SPC, 6 sigma knowledge; experience in planning and managing projects.
Hungarian and English working proficiency is required. German proficiency would be an advantage. Individual language courses available.
Willingness to travel and perform majority of the BMW Group qualification program abroad during the first year of employment.
